Bilan de la toxicité aiguë

Le métalaxyl-M est modérément toxique par la voie d'exposition orale mais faiblement par les voies cutanée et respiratoire. Il est un irritant sévère pour les yeux mais non pour la peau et il n'induit pas de sensibilisation cutanée.

Bilan des effets à long terme

Chez les animaux de laboratoire, les doses élevées peuvent causer des effets hépatiques. Le métalaxyl-M n'a pas démontré de sensibilité accrue des petits après une exposition in utero ou postnatale dans les études sur la reproduction et le développement. Il n'appartient pas à une classe de produits chimiques connue comme ayant des effets sur le système endocrinien. Le produit n'est ni neurotoxique ni génotoxique ou cancérigène.
